While the wind was well below the wind limit when the fleet left for the race course, the breeze soon picked up. After gusts of 26+ knots came through and at least five K1 capsized after their 5 minute signal, we were sent home - an upwind beat in 20+ knots of wind...
Good morning from day three of the 2014 Topcat World Championship!
This time we would like to thank all the helpers, be it on land or out on the lake. They provide the safety and comfort that an event like this needs. They lay out our course, help sailors in need and even bring back sunglasses and hats - those that swim anyway

Here are the results after five fantastic races and one discard. While racing has been close in all three classes, the top players seem to emerge.
Now that we are one race ahead of the schedule, only two races may be sailed tomorrow. First warning signal for the K1 class at 10:55 sharp!
Three races today and again, the wind outperformed the forecast. Some minor damages, a massive hole in a starboard K1 hull, a much smaller hole (stitches required) in a K1 head. Imagine a K1 capsizing literally on top of you
