To those who correctly found that we weren´t posting on the blog - sorry. We ended up using Facebook (Int. Topcat Class Association) and the Forum. I will re-post everything we posted on Fb here soon so that we have it all on our pages as well.
As everyone is heading home, we're giving the beach back to kite- and windsurfers. We had a great week with loads of wind and great people - well worthy of a World Championship.
And on this very last day Lake Neusiedl is saying farewell with some glorious sailing weather, 4-5bft and 25+ degrees, making it especially hard to leave.
Thank you all. It's been perfect.
PS: Of course the event wasn´t perfect as in 'there was nothing we could have done better'. But don´t you know the feeling when you are standing at the shore, looking out on the lake and nothing seems to be missing? And the only feeling you have for a few seconds is 'happy'
No more races today. A big thank you to everyone who made this event possible!
It's not looking good for race number 10. Boats seem to be coming back, no races so far.
The hunt is on for first place in the K1 class. While the top three will remain the same no matter what happens today, it is open who will stand middle, left or right on the podium tonight.
For K2 places 1 and 2 are settled while there is still a chance for a change in third place. In the K3 class there is a tight battle around second and third.
Let's hope for decent conditions for the last race of the Championship!
We all looked at the weather forecast, had a laugh and went on with our morning routine. There seems to be wind and that's our main concern. Yesterday the race officer did a great job abandoning start procedures and even a K1 race after a wind shift, so we are confident that we will have at least one, maybe two good races today. Again that is the maximum because we are already one race ahead of schedule. Auf geht's!
Boats are still coming in, results to follow.
